The Kroger Co. will launch its new HemisFares brand of 27 authentic products imported from their regional origins during its two-week, Savor World Flavor: Taste of Italy event.
HemisFares includes Creamy Sicilian Gelato, Bolognese Old-World pasta sauce and Four Leaf Balsamic Vinegar. Kroger will introduce its Italian products during Taste of Italy and follow with additional regions throughout the next year.
As reported in SN, the line is geared to adventurous eaters and Millennials in particular.
As part of the Taste of Italy event, Kroger will promote easy-to-prepare recipes such as freshly prepared prosciutto with melon, gourmet chicken parmesan and rich tiramisu dip.
Select stores will host “Crack the Parm” events with cheese specialists showing how to crack a 78 pound Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
"Savor World Flavor will introduce our customers to new recipes and authentic flavors they can make at home in their kitchens," said Mike Donnelly, Kroger's EVP of merchandising, in a statement. "Italy has perfected the art of bringing the family together around the dinner table, and we want to inspire our customers to recreate the culinary experience of Italy in their own homes."
Last year Kroger, based in Cincinnati, hosted its first Savor World Flavor event, Taste of Mexico.
