New resident
“It’s a fresh and inviting interior that mimics an Italian village,” said store manager Anthony Sullo, describing the 50,000-square-foot store.
Meat and greet
A wide selection of meats is available, but if customers don’t see what they want, store butchers will cut meat to order.
Fish tale
Much of the fresh fish arrives whole, and is sliced into steaks and filets on the premises.
New deli
The retailer carries approximately 15 deli salads, all of which are made in-house from scratch. All hot prepared foods are also made fresh daily, with Italian sausage and peppers a customer favorite.
Cheese it
The fine cheese section consists of approximately 200 selections, with a wide variety in every category.
Wine seller
The wine section is the largest in the retailer’s stores, consisting of more than 200 selections. Wine tastings are held on the weekends.
Cold comfort
The walk-in beer cooler contains more than 200 varieties of craft beers.
Green scene
The produce section at the Northbrook Joe Caputo & Sons has expanded, occupying about a quarter of the store.
Coffee break
Lavazza coffee is a new addition to the retailer. Also new is a café where customers can sit to enjoy their coffee, specialty drinks and gelato.
A lotta gelato
24 flavors of locally made Italian gelato are available every day, with the selections changing weekly.
