Market Street comes to Abilene
To open its first Market Street store in Abilene, Texas, United Supermarkets converted a 67,000-square-foot Albertsons that opened under the new banner July 1. Market Street is one of the banners from United Supermarkets, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albertsons.
Free for the tasting
Market Street offers an “Ask for a Taste” program in its produce departments at all stores, including Abilene, that allows guests to sample any product before making a purchase.
A Texas-sized bakery
Market Street expanded the bakery space at the store to provide a wider offering, including custom cakes and signature thumb-print cookies and multiple varieties of Texas brownies.
Market Street stores focus on healthy lifestyles in the Living Well sections, which offer natural, organic, gluten-free and other health-oriented products, some of which are also available in other parts of the store.
Market Street features boutique-style gifts and housewares in its Dish departments — items geared to home entertaining.
Eat hearty, y’all!
Market Street offers prepared foods at a section called Texas Kitchen.
Each Market Street displays old photos of the local community, as the Abilene store does with vintage pictures from the city’s past.
