AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market here and The Container Store, based in Coppell, Texas, are co-marketing back-to-school products based on the healthy, safe and economical themes that define today's back-to-school containers.

The retailers created a social media campaign that includes a video (blog.wholefoodsmarket.com/2011/08/packing-healthy-lunches/) on healthy lunches — no longer just a PB&J sandwich — and tips for choosing the right containers to pack them in.

Whole Foods gave away gift cards online to the best healthful school lunch ideas. The natural food retailer's blog featured school lunch packing essentials with direct links of The Container Store's school lunch products on its website.

“The two chains have similar target shoppers, and cross-marketing is an inexpensive way to expose potential shoppers to each retailer,” Container Store Marketing Director Elaine Luce said in a Dallas News report.
