Asian supermarket chain H Mart on Wednesday said it has launched online ordering and delivery through Instacart in Philadelphia, and would expand to six additional markets in the coming weeks.
Instacart H Mart delivery will be available soon in select ZIP codes throughout Orange County, Calif., Washington, D.C., suburbs, Atlanta, Chicago suburbs, Los Angeles and Houston. Instacart prices will match H Mart's in-store prices, the companies said.
“We are pleased to expand our offering on Instacart to other cities throughout the United States,” said Sam Kim, director of marketing and management planning. “Customer feedback has been incredibly positive, and the best way to reach new customers is to offer same-day delivery.”
Instacart currently services 18 metropolitan areas: Atlanta, Austin, Boulder, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle and Washington.
“We’re excited to deliver those hard to find items like kimchi and curry to customers throughout more of our markets,” said Vishwa Chandra, VP of retail accounts at Instacart, San Francisco. “It’s important we continue to offer a wide variety of options on our platform, whether that be conventional grocery items, organic, or ethnic foods. Partnering with H Mart diversifies the selection on the Instacart marketplace and enhances the grocery shopping experience for customers.”
Lyndhurst, N.J.-based H Mart operates 52 stores in 18 metropolitan areas across the country, specializing in Asian groceries with estimated sales of more than $900 million.
