Store Brands 2012: Head of the Class

Private label is taking the perimeter of the store by storm.

Fresh meat and produce were among the categories that experienced the fastest-growing unit sales increases. Other categories that had strong unit gains included cough and cold remedies and pain medication.

Meanwhile, frozen juice, detergent and pet food were among the categories that experienced the deepest unit losses.
