Weis Co-Brands Ice Cream With Tastykake

SUNBURY, Pa. — Weis Markets has introduced five new private-label ice cream varieties flavored with products from Philadelphia-based Tastykake including Cream-Filled Chocolate Cupcake, Butter Scotch Krimpet and Peanut Butter Kandy Kake. The co-branded novelties are produced by Weis’ ice cream plant here.

“Since Weis Quality Ice Cream is one of our bestsellers and we sell a lot of Tastycake products, we decided to combine the two,” said Regina Tator, Weis Markets’ director of private brands, in a statement. “As a locally focused retailer, our private brand team is always looking for opportunities to work with well-known, high-quality local suppliers — Weis Quality Tastykake Ice Cream is a perfect example of our approach.”
