Packaged salads and fresh produce have retailers seeing green

Supermarket salads and ingredients are healthy, convenient and perfect for consumers’ continued dining at home

During the height of pandemic fears in the second and third quarters of 2020, fresh produce and the salad category saw a drop in sales as consumers turned more to center store packaged goods and e-commerce for their grocery needs. But since late 2020 and throughout this year, as shoppers returned to in-store shopping, these fresh categories have been on the rise.
