BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons LLC here said it is collecting donations through April 27 in a fund-raising program across all stores to support disaster relief efforts by The Salvation Army following tornadoes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The stores feature boards at each checkstand with coupons for $1, $3 and $5, which customers can select and have scanned as part of their total grcery bill.
"The impact of the devastating tornadoes in the DFW Metroplex will present recovery challenges for many weeks to come," said Wayne Denningham, president of the chain's Southern division. "Our in-store fund-raising campaign gives us the opportunity to respond quickly to support the efforts of great organizations like The Salvation Army as emergencies arise."
Albertsons LLC operates stores in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas.
