INDIANAPOLIS — Kroger Co. and United Food and Commercial Workers Local 700 said Friday they had reached a tentative agreement on a new contract covering 2,400 workers at Kroger, Scott’s and Owens stores in Northeast Indiana.
In a statement on its website, the union said it would present the new contract to members May 17 and 18, followed by a vote on Thursday, May 19, in all stores.
“The company and the union worked together to reach an agreement that is good for our associates, good for our customers and good for our company,” said Bob Moeder, president of Kroger’s Central Division, based here, in a statement. “This agreement continues to provide our associates one of the best compensation packages in our industry, in our region.”
Terms of the agreement were not immediately available.
