THIBODAUX, La. — Rouses Markets here is targeting store managers of its competitors — Winn-Dixie in particular — with a recruiting campaign playing upon its stability as a local operator.
“Why work for an out-of-state chain when you could join our local family?” the chain said in an ad appearing on its Facebook page and in local newspapers. In an apparent reference to Winn-Dixie’s recent acquisition by Bi-Lo Holdings, it asks experienced managers to contact Rouses “if your company has been sold and you’re not sure about your future.”
“We are inviting experienced store managers, experienced assistant store managers and experienced department managers to talk with us about our future growth plans and career paths available at Rouses,” the ad said.
The campaign echoes Rouses’ “You’re Either Local or You’re Not” campaign.
Officials of Winn-Dixie were not immediately available for comment.
