WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Shaw's Supermarkets, a division of Supervalu, Minneapolis, began its 7th Annual Spirit of Giving Food Drive to benefit America's Second Harvest Food Banks, this week with celebrity spokesman Troy Brown, a wide receiver for the New England Patriots. Brown joined Shaw's president, Carl Jablonski, and the executive directors from the participating food banks to kick off the food drive at a Shaw's Supermarket in Mansfield, Mass., on Tuesday. "At this time of year, so many families need our help. That's why I'm asking all of my fans, and sports fans throughout New England to stop by their local Shaw's or Star Market to purchase and donate one of these bags to this food drive," Brown said. Food banks throughout New England will benefit, as $5, $10 and $15 pre-assembled bags are available for customers to purchase for donation. The food drive runs from Nov. 28 through Dec. 17 at all Shaw's and Star Market stores in six New England states. Star Market is also a division of Supervalu. The bags will be delivered to participating food banks in December.
