The Missouri grocer said Tuesday that shoppers who join Dierbergs Rewards can earn points on purchases in stores or online via Shipt for same-day delivery. To collect the points, members scan the barcode in the Dierbergs app or enter their phone number at checkout, receiving 15 points for each dollar spent. Upon reaching 1,500 points, customers choose their reward, either reserving free grocery items via the app to collect in-store or getting cash off at the register.

“Dierbergs Rewards is designed to provide a more convenient and rewarding shopping experience,” President and CEO Greg Dierberg said in a statement. “It will deliver more of what matters to our customers and associates. We’ve got a lot of surprises in store.”

Dierbergs noted that the rewards program stars in the new Dierbergs app. Features include the ability to view and manage rewards activity, browse the Rewards Marketplace to redeem points on popular grocery items, check out additional point-earning opportunities, access digital coupons, use shopping list and item locator tools, and see what’s on sale in the weekly ad. App users also will find an updated purchase experience for the prepared foods, bakery and floral departments, the retailer said.

“Digital coupons, bonus points and birthday surprises are just the beginning. We have designed a program that gives our customers and associates a choice on how they interact with us digitally,” according to Jamie Collins, vice president of marketing at Dierbergs. “It’s the same quality and service our customers enjoy from Dierbergs, only now there is even more to love.”

The Dierbergs Rewards membership is free and, for a limited time, customers will receive 500 bonus points for signing up. Customers can enroll online at dierbergs.com/rewards or download the new Dierbergs app at the Apple App Store (iOS) or on Google Play (Android). Dierbergs added that shoppers with an online account before Feb. 15, 2022, will need to complete a brief signup process to get started on the new Dierbergs Rewards.

Overall, Chesterfield, Mo.-based Dierbergs operates 26 supermarkets, including a store at Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. Most recently, in November, the chain opened a 71,000-square-foot store in Lake Saint Louis that marks a next-generation format for the Dierbergs banner, with a new store layout, interior design and updated fresh food departments, dubbed Dierbergs Kitchen, Dierbergs Butcher Shop and Dierbergs Bakehouse. In addition, the grocer renamed its Party Center as Bob’s Barn, which features a full-size wooden barn inside the store. Other highlights include a new health and beauty destination, a pizza cove, and floral and gift shop, and a new Mercy Pharmacy.
