Inserra Supermarkets said Monday that its newest store would open next month in Wallington, N.J.
The 60,000-square-foot ShopRite of Wallington will feature ShopRite from Home, free nutrition and wellness programming including an in-store dietitian, full-service catering, a pharmacy and a liquor store, Inserra said. The store is located in the Wallington Plaza Shopping Center at 375 Paterson Ave.
The site, where A&P previously operated a Food Basics discount store that closed in 2012, was the subject of a dispute between Inserra and rival Stop & Shop that was privately settled early last year, reports said.
“Building this new, modern store enables us to further bring our standard of quality and service to the residents of Wallington, Passaic and the neighboring areas,” Larry Inserra Jr., chairman and CEO of Inserra, said in a statement. “We appreciate our customers’ patience as we work to complete the Wallington store, and look forward to welcoming them this spring.”
In addition to ShopRite of Wallington, Mahwah, N.J.-based Inserra Supermarkets owns and operates 22 ShopRite stores in New Jersey and New York and a PriceRite store in Garfield, N.J.
