Meals Made Easy features a centrally located kiosk that merchandises all the fresh ingredients needed for a meal.
Recipe cards, available at the display, list the items that customers will need to buy and give instructions on how to make the meal.
Tablets on either side of the kiosk let customers search online for recipes.
Shoppers select their produce, meats, starches and garnishes to create a specific meal or follow a certain recipe.
The cards also indicate the prep time, serving amount, calories per serving and skill level for the recipe.
Meal sizing is adjustable so customers can buy ingredients to feed one or more people.
Featured meals will rotate and include vegan, fish and meat options.
Longo’s plans to expand Meals Made Easy to all of its 33 stores in Ontario by spring 2020.
