Tops Friendly Markets on Tuesday said it had completed renovations of Tops stores in Buffalo and Warsaw, N.Y., representing a $2.45 million investment.
In Buffalo, the Tops location on South Park Avenue underwent a $1.25 million renovation that officials said complements its neighborhood setting and features new décor, increased product variety and an enhanced shopping experience.
“Our South Park store is located in one of Buffalo’s most historic and unique neighborhoods, and has been a part of the fabric of that community for 43 years,” said Frank Curci, Tops’ chairman, president and CEO said in a statement.
“We are always listening to our customers and neighbors and have made significant changes and improvements based on that feedback.”
New amenities and changes at the 58,869 square-foot store focus on providing customers with an improved shopping experience and product selection. The renovation includes exterior improvements and enhanced décor throughout the entire store.
Renovations also include an expansion of the store’s Hispanic and Jamaican foods selection, an increased variety of natural, organic and gluten free products and an expanded pharmacy.
The store’s produce department underwent a major transformation with the addition of a wider variety of organic products as well as new flooring and cases, designed to highlight the department’s fresh offerings.
In Warsaw, shoppers will see an expanded product variety in the bakery, deli, meat and frozen departments as well as a brand new Tops Brew Market, featuring hundreds of craft beer options.
The store also unveiled a new natural and organic department to meet the increasing demand for those items within the community. New self-scan checkout registers were also installed, Tops said.
