Simply Fresh by McCaffrey's, a new small-store concept from McCaffrey's Food Markets, opened its first location late last week in Doylestown, Pa.

The 13,000-square-foot store, which occupies the site of a former hobby shop, features what the company calls a "best-of" selection of McCaffrey's traditional store offerings including produce, meat, seafood, cheese, deli, bakery and floral departments, along with chef-crafted, gourmet prepared foods. Each full-service department is staffed with food experts — chefs, butchers, seafood and cheese mongers, bakers and baristas. Highlights of the store include a crepe station, hundreds of cheeses from around the globe, custom cakes, a gourmet coffee bar, a comfortable seating area and hundreds of organic and exotic product offerings. An on-site catering coordinator will also be available for customers’ entertaining needs.

The new store is located on State Street in bucolic downtown Doylestown, seat of wealthy Bucks County, Pa. Its neighbors include Acme Markets and Weis Market, each located less than a mile away in traditional shopping centers.
