The Fresh Grocer, which operates seven stores in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, opened its newest location — a 53,000-square-foot store — in Upper Darby, Pa., last week.
The location features over 40 varieties of homestyle hot entrees made fresh daily including fire-grilled chicken, Chinese cuisine, a garden fresh salad bar and the Fresh Grocer’s signature, made-to-order hoagies and sandwiches.
The store also offers an online shopping service via thefreshgrocer.com with store pickup and home delivery options available. Additionally, shoppers who spend $50 or more can use the store’s shuttle service.
Upper Darby Township Mayor Thomas N. Micozzie along with Sen. Tom McGarrigle, Rep. Margo Davidson and other local elected officials took part in the grand opening celebration, which culminated with the supermarket’s $10,000 check presentation to Philabundance. The donated funds will support local huger relief efforts, providing over 20,000 meals to people in need.
Fresh Grocer merchandises a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and local produce.
The store features a full-service seafood department.
The expansive meat section offers a service case with trained butchers available for custom cuts and special orders.
The store’s grocery offerings include an extensive beer and wine selection including domestics and imports.
