TUKWILA, Wash. -- Northwest Grocers, a consortium of 55 independent grocery retailers, has chosen to provide its own retail price hosting services from its headquarters here using BRdata‘s Retail Boss back-office software, BRdata, Melville, N.Y., announced this week. Northwest Grocers is switching from reliance upon hosting services provided by its wholesaler, Associated Grocers. “We feel that by maintaining our own pricing zones internally, we can increase our focus on making sure retail pricing is correct for the market in which a particular store operates," said Don Ruder, IS director at Northwest Grocers, in a statement. He added that operating the hosting in-house will reduce the cost of service for the stores -- primarily Red Apple Market and Thriftway outlets.
