CHICAGO — A Nintendo Wii U mass merchandiser display took home top honors in the Design of the Times competition.

Frank Mayer and Associates, with co-entrant AGI In-Store, created the display for Nintendo of America.

The Path to Purchase Institute announced the winners during an awards reception last night at the Shopper Marketing Expo.

Other winners announced yesterday are:

• Supermarket Category: Mondelez International/International Paper/Eastwest Marketing Group for “Nabisco Brighten Your Holiday Traditions” display.

• Consumer Electronics: Electronic Arts/RockTenn Merchandising Displays for “EA Sports Interactive In-Line Display.”

• Specialty: Great Northern Corp./co-entrant Go East Design/3M for “Take Note of Color” endcap.

• Drug: RockTenn Merchandising Displays/Unilever for the “Axe Apollo Easel Floorstand.

The Design of the Times honors the most effective and innovative in-store marketing solutions, from traditional POP displays to digital and mobile solutions.
