INGLES NAMES FREEMAN CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
aid it has named Ronald B. Freeman its new chief financial officer, effective April 18. Freeman replaces Brenda Tudor, who resigned last month. Freeman, a certified public accountant, most recently served as CFO of Silver-Line Plastics, a PVC pipe manufacturing company based in Asheville. "We are pleased that Ronald has accepted our offer to join Ingles. We believe he brings a depth of financial and management experience to our company," Robert P. Ingle, chief executive officer, said in a statement.
IGA REALIGNS FIELD SERVICE SUPPORT PERSONNEL
CHICAGO -- IGA here last week said it's made changes to its field service teams. William Benzing, chief growth officer, will work primarily with customers of Associated Wholesale Grocers, Kansas City, Kan., in addition to certain customers of Supervalu, Minneapolis, and Roundy's, Milwaukee. Ricky St. John will be area director in a newly created post that will be shared by IGA and Affiliated Foods Midwest, Norfolk, Neb. He will work mainly with customers of that wholesaler. Bill Overman will serve retailers in the Midwest, and provide support for stores supplied by Merchants Distributors, Hickory, N.C.; W. Lee Flowers; Scranton, S.C.; and the Statesboro, Ga., warehouse of Nash Finch. Shane Maue will pick up coverage of C&S Wholesale Grocers-supplied stores in Northern California, in addition to serving Cheshire, Conn.-based Bozzuto's and C&S customers in the Northeast. Michael Abney, an employee of Supervalu, will continue to be director of marketing to the IGA retailers in the Northwest. Jim Tooms, president of Independent Grocers West, will continue serving retailers in the Southwest served by Bashas', Chandler, Ariz. Richard Lukeman, an IGA retailer in Long Island, N.Y., will lead IGA's initiative in Florida with Associated Grocers of Florida, Miami.
