Bill Bishop

Chief Architect, Brick Meets Click

Recognized as one of the retail food industry’s preeminent advisors, Bill Bishop has been involved in research and consulting for several decades with a concentration on the new issues, competitors and developments impacting this business.

In 2011, Bill co-founded and became the Chief Architect at Brick Meets Click, an analytics and strategic insight firm that leverages its industry expertise, clear thinking and practical solutions to help clients solve the challenge of finding new routes to success in the changing U.S. grocery market.

Early in his career Bill was the Vice President of Research at the Supermarket Institute (now FMI). Later, he founded Willard Bishop Consulting and led major studies on new store formats, pricing strategy, direct store delivery, and loyalty marketing. He also helped create the supermarket-focused Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council (CCRRC) and convenience retail-focused NACS/CCRRC.

Bill earned a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Marketing from Cornell University. He has taught Marketing Channels at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and served on the Boards for Raley’s Fine Foods and The Food Institute.
