For Wrigley Field's centennial anniversary, Jewel-Osco developed an celebratory cupcake. The retailer will hand out 10,000 custom anniversary cupcakes to Chicago Cubs fans at the field on Wednesday.
To develop the cupcakes, Jewel-Osco needed 70 people to bake, package, label and transprt the cupcakes to the field. The retailer also gave $10,000 to Cub's Charities.
“Participating in this milestone event in Chicago is an honor,” said Jewel-Osco president Shane Sampson in a media statement.
“Jewel-Osco has 114 years of tradition in Chicago, and we’re proud to welcome Wrigley Field to the Centennial Club, as well as to support Cubs Charities with their work in Chicago. This organization takes their responsibility to participate in the community and focus on the needs of its citizens just as seriously as we do – it’s great when we can use the combined power of Cubs fans and Jewel-Osco customers to make life better for everyone.”
