Wal-Mart, Aldi Face Off Against Established Minneapolis Retailers [With Map]

If variety is the spice of life, then consider Minneapolis well-seasoned. 

Retail growth in Minneapolis has outpaced the city's population growth, SN's Elliot Zwiebach reported this week. Minnesota newcomers Wal-Mart and Aldi are competing against a slew of established chains, such as Cub, Rainbow Foods, Coborn's, Lund's/Byerly's, Kowalski's and Target. 

The below map compares the placement of new chains (red) and the older established retailers (yellow) in Minneapolis area.
