Aguayo joins Mi Pueblo in HR role

Mi Pueblo Foods on Wednesday announced the appointment of Jose Aguayo as VP of human resources. In this role, Aguayo will oversee employee relations for Mi Pueblo's stores across Northern California and corporate office, while also developing training programs to ensure the chain's "colaboradores" have the tools to succeed in their roles.

Additionally, Aguayo will spearhead staffing and recruitment efforts at corporate and store levels, while working on benefit programs for more than 2,000 employees at the San Jose, Calif.-based Hispanic supermarket chain.

"Our people — our colaboradores — are our greatest asset, which is why it was extremely important for us to find someone with relevant experience, who also understands our corporate culture, values and vision,” Javier Ramirez, CEO and president of Mi Pueblo, said in a statement. "Jose possesses the leadership and management skills needed to improve our current structure, and lead us to become one of Northern California’s best workplaces.”
