Stater Bros. Markets said it has promoted John Ciraulo to the position of VP, meat division.

Stater Bros. Markets said it has promoted John Ciraulo to the position of VP, meat division.

He succeeds Kevin Schubert, who is scheduled to retire in March after more than 39 years with the San Bernardino, Calif.-based retailer.

Circaulo, director of marketing for the meat division, joined Stater in 1986 as a meat clerk and worked his way up to department manager, retail supervisor, buyer/merchandiser and meat buyer before being named to his current post in 2010.

“John is a well-respected and valuable member of our management team,” said Jack Brown, chairman and CEO, Stater Bros. “This promotion is a result of his leadership skills and the contributions that he has made towards the success of the company’s meat division.”
