Door to Door Organics names Demko CEO

E-commerce veteran previously served at FreshDirect, Priceline

Door to Door Organics, a meal planning and natural and organic grocery delivery service, has named Mike Demko as its new CEO. Demko will succeed interim CEO Stefan Pepe who was recently named chairman for the Louisville, Colo.-based retailer.

Prior to joining Door to Door Organics, Demko was COO of GPShopper, a developer of mobile solutions for retailers, where he was instrumental in scaling the business and guiding the development of mobile engagement and commerce technologies for retailers that culminated in the acquisition of the business by Synchrony Financial.

“Mike has an impressive track record with high-growth companies as a results-driven leader who has a deep understanding of the role of technology within the e-commerce ecosystem,” Pepe said. “His proven ability to quickly identify, assess and act on market opportunities will greatly benefit Door to Door Organics as we continue to grow our customer base and roll out new offerings that allow us to provide customers with the highest quality, healthy, local and sustainable food and ingredients and eliminate the stress of cooking healthy meals with incredible recipes and content.”

Early in his career, Demko was an officer in the U.S. Army. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s in engineering from Princeton University and holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

Door to Door Organics delivers of fresh, organic, natural and local food directly to homes and businesses throughout 17 states throughout the West, Midwest and East Coast including Washington, D.C.
