Giant of Landover opened its first in-store smoothie bar at a location in McLean, Va.
The smoothie bar offers 10 flavors like Pina Colada, Banana Nut Blast and Crazy Carrot, as well as a smoothie of the month and custom-made drinks. Smoothies are made with fresh vegetables, fruit or milk as a base.
Nutrition information is available for all drinks, which come in a 20-ounce size. The smoothie bar is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“Now, more than ever, folks in this area are constantly on the go. During the course of a fast-paced day, we don’t always remember or find time for the recommended daily servings of fresh fruit, vegetables and protein,” Lisa Coleman, in-store nutritionist, said in a press release. “The smoothie bar offers a delicious and nutritious breakfast, snack, or post-workout meal that can also help customers fill the gaps in their daily diets.”
