MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P has introduced a line of gourmet ciabatta deli sandwiches under its Hartford Reserve private label.

All are made with ciabatta Italian bread and Hartford Reserve meats and cheeses. The line initially includes 11 sandwiches, including roast beef, stilton cheese and herbs; black forest ham and brie with apricot sauce; and spicy chicken with spicy aioli. All are available in the chain’s A&P, SuperFresh and Waldbaum’s stores.

Jim Saufl, A&P’s deli/bakery director, developed the line with chef Rob Petri to cater to those wanting a unique gourmet item for lunch or other meal.

“The result is one of those like-you’ve-never-had incredible sandwiches that work outside the lunchbox for both meals and entertaining solutions,” Saufl says in the latest edition of A&P’s Easy Solutions publication, which did not give the price of the sandwiches.
