NEWINGTON, Conn. — Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union said it has opened its first supermarket branch inside a Price Chopper here.
A ribbon-cutting was scheduled for Tuesday, with a grand opening celebration set for this Saturday, Oct. 29. Events will include a grocery giveaway and live entertainment.
"Our new Price Chopper location will offer the ultimate in convenience," said John Holt, Nutmeg president and chief executive officer, in a prepared statement. "It will be as simple as banking while you shop and also enjoying the best rates from a local credit union."
Rocky Hill, Conn.-based Nutmeg operates six other locations in Connecticut. Price Chopper Supermarkets, Schenectady, N.Y., offers in-store banking at several other locations, including Citizens Bank outlets at some of its seven other Connecticut stores.
