SPENCER, Ind. — Funeral services are scheduled here tomorrow for John R. Abrell, a former retailer and wholesaler, who died May 15 of unspecified causes.
Abrell, 76, was formerly president of the Indiana division of Wetterau, a Hazelwood, Mo.-based wholesaler that was acquired by Supervalu, Minneapolis, in the late 1990s; he also formerly operated five IGA stores in the Terre Haute, Ind., area.
Abrell is survived by his wife, Rita; four sons; a daughter; a sister; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
