Hy-Vee's Skokan Named CFO; Taylor EVP

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hy-Vee here said Monday that Mike Skokan has been named chief financial officer and treasurer, succeeding John Briggs, who is retiring at the end of the month.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hy-Vee here said Monday that Mike Skokan has been named chief financial officer and treasurer, succeeding John Briggs, who is retiring at the end of the month.

In addition, Ron Taylor was named executive vice president and chief administrative officer, succeeding Ken Waller, who is retiring effective Feb. 1.

Skokan most recently was vice president, financial reporting, and assistant secretary. He joined the corporate staff in 1993 as an internal auditor and became financial reporting manager in 1996. He was elected vice president in 2007.

Taylor is currently senior vice president, corporate procurement and logistics. He began working for Hy-Vee in 1975 as a part-time employee, eventually serving as a store director at two Omaha stores before moving into a corporate operations position in 1993. He has overseen Hy-Vee’s procurement department since 2000, and in 2006 he also took on responsibility for the company’s logistics function.

Briggs had been with Hy-Vee for more than 30 years and had been CFO since 1998. Waller's 40th anniversary with Hy-Vee will be Feb. 1. He worked a variety of positions in the company and had been in his current post since 2008.
