K-VA-T to Crown Miss Food City

ABINGDON, Va. — K-VA-T Food Stores will host its 2011 Miss Food City pageant on Saturday, Oct.16, at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Bristol, Tenn.

The winner will get $500 in cash, along with other prizes. She will serve as a highly visible Food City representative who appears to crowds of over 160,000 at various Food City events, according to promotional materials. Among other events, she will meet NASCAR drivers, and sign autographs at racing functions, including Food City’s Race Night at Bristol Motor Speedway in March.

Co-sponsored by the Twin City Woman's Club and WXBQ radio, the event is open to women ages 18 to 25. The entry fee is $100. The first runner-up will get a $200 cash prize; second runner-up, $100.

Contestants can enter by downloading an entry form on the foodcity.com website. All applications must be received by Sept. 30.
