CINCINNATI — The Kroger Co. here said yesterday it would double fuel discounts earned with the purchase of gift cards through the end of the year, and added pharmacy prescriptions to the program. Starting tomorrow, shoppers can earn 10 cents for every $50 spent on gift cards. Meanwhile, most prescription medicines are now in the program, with customers earning 10 cents off in fuel discounts for every two prescriptions. For most other store products, Kroger customers earn 10 cents per $100 in store spending.
The fuel discount program is available at the following banners: Baker’s, City Market, Dillons, Fry’s, Gerbes, Hilander, Jay C, King Soopers, Owen’s, Pay Less, QFC and Scott’s stores. Also, shoppers using the retailer’s 1-2-3 Rewards MasterCard earn 15 cents off per gallon in participating markets.
“We are offering our customers another way to help maximize their time, travel and savings this holiday season,” said Don McGeorge, president and chief operating officer of Kroger. “Our expanded fuel discounts are designed to appeal to shoppers on any budget.”
