NEW YORK — Product of the Year USA revealed the 16 winning products here last week that have earned the right to bear the Product of the Year designation.

Although products are initially nominated by their manufacturer, and the field is narrowed by a panel of industry judges, and consumers ultimately determine the winners.

In October, program partner TNS polled more than 100,000 consumers about the innovativeness of over 40 entries. Beginning in March, the red POY logo will appear on winning products and on in-store displays.

“The POY program and red logo take out the guesswork, and let people know a product stands out for its innovation, value and benefit to the consumer,” said Colleen Kelly, managing director of POY, in a statement.

The winners:
