WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Raley's here has awarded a $5,000 shopping spree to a customer — who also happens to be an employee of its Bel Air Markets subsidiary — for submitting the best homemade 30-second commercials for the chain's private brands, as judged by the public.

Chris Howard's commercial was one of the three finalists — out of more than 60 entries — that was posted online last month so people could vote on which was their favorite. Howard works as a senior clerk at a Bel Air store in Antelope, Calif.

The two runners-up will receive gift cards worth $100 each. A Raleys spokeswoman told SN there are no plans to run the commercial in any media other than online.
