MILWAUKEE — Roundy's Supermarkets here has joined FoodLink, Los Gatos, Calif., an online network connecting more than 1,500 fresh food retailers, wholesalers and suppliers. The network consists of retail grocers and their fresh food suppliers, including carriers and third party brokers and buyers.

The network helps retailers manage the fresh food category to reduce over-ordering, cut down on unnecessary transfers between distribution centers, enhance product traceability, and achieve greater invoice match rate accuracy. For suppliers, FoodLink simplifies the process of managing orders, tracking shipments, responding to change requests and getting paid.

"FoodLink is a unique solution that enables us to improve our exposure and access to a broader array of high-quality suppliers for our produce department, thereby increasing value to our customers while eliminating many inefficient manual processes," said Roundy's Steve Kinishi, vice president of produce at Roundy's, in a statement.

Roundy's has more than 150 retail grocery stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.
