ST. LOUIS — Save-A-Lot, the limited-assortment chain here that is owned by Supervalu, Minneapolis, yesterday said it has hired four new executives and promoted three others.
Bill Gillispie, a veteran of other Supervalu banners, joined Save-A-Lot as senior vice president of marketing and merchandising. Tom Lenkevich joined Save-A-Lot as senior vice president of retail operations. He is a former Save-A-Lot operator and also previously worked at Meijer, A&P and Farmer Jack. Andrea Wagner joined Save-A-Lot as vice president of consumer-brand strategy. Wagner held previous positions at Kroger and H.E. Butt Grocery Co. Vanessa Foster joined Save-A-Lot as director of communications and community relations. She most recent worked at Cartoon Network.
John Gerber, who has been with Supervalu since 1985 and Save-A-Lot since 2002, was promoted to vice president of distribution. Mike Kemp was promoted to vice president of product segments. He joined Save-A-Lot in 2003 and has managed the company’s procurement of meat and perishables. Donna Mickens was promoted to director of organization effectiveness. She was a managing partner at consulting firm MCG.
