QUINCY, Mass. — Stop & Shop Supermarkets here has chosen Osram Sylvania, Danvers, Mass., as its exclusive branded lighting supplier, it was announced yesterday. GE Lighting had supplied the chain.
Osram Sylvania collaborated with the retailer on the design and development of store displays, including a 20-ft. Sylvania CFL Energy Center display. The display highlights the top-selling Sylvania CFL products that use 75% less energy than standard incandescent bulbs and last up to 10 times longer. Stop & Shop will carry a variety of the company’s Sylvania-brand lighting products on its shelves that will help consumers light their homes, save money and protect the planet. In addition, the private label “Smart Living” line will be phased into the Sylvania product portfolio.
“We understand that our customers want to see greener and more earth-friendly products such as CFLs and LEDs, because everyone aims to save energy and money,” said Faith Weiner, a spokeswoman for the chain, in a press statement.
