SUNBURY, Pa. — Weis Markets yesterday said it has promoted Scott Frost to vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.

He had been serving in that position in an acting capacity. He succeeds Rick Mills, who left the company in July. Frost joined Weis in 1984 as a staff accountant and has subsequently worked as an assistant controller and controller.

“Scott brings strong professional credentials and extensive experience in the day-to-day financial operations of our company and our [Securities and Exchange Commission] compliance programs,” said Robert F. Weis, chairman of the 165-store retailer, in a prepared statement.
