MIAMI — Winn-Dixie Stores is encouraging savvy Black Friday shoppers to buy gift cards to their favorite retailers at Winn-Dixie and then use them to make their holiday gift purchases for huge savings.
From Nov. 26 through Dec. 7, Winn-Dixie customers will save $5 off for every $50 purchase in select gift cards from their favorite retailers, such as GameStop, Gap, Lowe’s, Disney and others.
According to a recent survey by the National Retail Federation, gift cards will be the most requested gift for the 2010 holiday season.
“Consumers don’t typically think of grocery stores for Black Friday deals, but purchasing gift cards at Winn-Dixie before heading out to shop not only saves them time, but also saves them money on their grocery bill,” said Mary Kellmanson, group vice president of marketing, Winn-Dixie, in a press release.
Winn-Dixie’s extensive gift card mall contains nearly 100 gift cards. The deal is good for up to $300 in a single transaction and available in Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Montgomery and Birmingham.
