LAKELAND, Fla. — Job hunters had a chance to ask Publix Super Markets employment questions during an “Ask a Recruiter” Facebook chat this week.

The Publix recruiting team was available to answer retail, pharmacy, information technology, corporate and other employment questions on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 1 p.m. to 4.p.m. EST.

More than 200 Facebook users registered for the event. Many participants asked if Publix would hire them. Publix recruiters offered various tips to get hired.

The retailer receives more than 1 million job applications each year, one recruiter said during the event.

The recruiter Q&A comes at a time when Publix is posting job openings on its Facebook page. Just last week, it advertised a consumer research manager position.
