Rouses has introduced Texas Star Beef, a line of beef exclusive to its stores.

Texas Star Beef is the first branded line from Kane Beef, Corpus Christi, Texas, which sources beef from cattle raised on small Texas ranches by family farmers.

The beef comes from cattle that is grass fed, and is grain finished, “So you get marbling, texture and that famous Texas beef flavor,” Rouses, based in Thibodaux, La., states in promotional materials.

The retailer has been promoting the line with in-store sampling events.
