DALLAS — Blockbuster here yesterday named James Keyes as the company's new chairman and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Keyes is the former president and CEO of 7-Eleven, also Dallas, and a 21-year veteran of that company. He replaces current Chairman and CEO John Antioco, who will be assisting with a corporate transition, the company said. This follows news last week that Blockbuster plans to close 282 stores this year in addition to the 290 it closed last year. Blockbuster has more than 5,000 U.S. stores.
