Puget Sound-area grocer PCC Community Markets has launched same-day online grocery delivery via Shipt.

Under the partnership, announced late yesterday, PCC customers now can place e-grocery orders directly through the grocer’s page on the Shipt’s online marketplace and the Shipt mobile app. The Shipt marketplace also is accessible via the delivery page on the Seattle-based chain’s website.

After filling their virtual cart, PCC customers schedule a delivery time, and Shipt personal shoppers pics, pack and deliver their grocery orders in as soon as one hour. New product features from Shipt, such as Dietary Preferences and Preferred Shoppers, also enable PCC customers to personalize their online shopping experience, Shipt noted.

“PCC is committed to providing exceptional products and experiences for our customers, whether that’s in our stores or getting our trusted products delivered to their door,” Darrell Vannoy, senior vice president of merchandising and marketing at PCC Community Markets, said in a statement. “Partnering with Shipt and their people-first philosophy aligns with our vision to inspire the health and well-being of our community. We are excited to bring this convenient option to both of our customers.”

The launch of Shipt’s service marks PCC’s second on-demand delivery partner. The community-owned retail cooperative has provided online grocery delivery through Instacart since September 2015.

A certified organic retailer, PCC operates 16 stores in Washington, with a focus on natural, sustainable and better-for-you products and foodservice. The company describes itself as the nation’s largest community-owned food market and said it plans to open new stores in Madison Valley and relocate its Kirkland location.

Target Corp.-owned Shipt said that, in support of the new partnership, PCC customers can receive $50 off an annual membership (regularly $99) through Jan. 14 by visiting the shipt.com/offer webpage and entering the code 4D27978717F.

“We’re excited to partner with PCC to bring locally sourced, authentic and fresh ingredients from the Pacific Northwest directly to our customers’ doors,” commented Rina Hurst, chief business officer at Birmingham, Ala.-based Shipt. “By removing grocery shopping from their to-do lists, customers will have time to focus on more important things. They can rely on Shipt’s community of shoppers, known for going above and beyond, to provide a personalized shopping experience — shopping the PCC aisles, carefully selecting each item just as they would for themselves.”
