Sam’s Club is partnering with online alcohol delivery platform DRINKS to provide online wine purchasing and delivery to customers, beginning with Sam’s Club’s own brand Member’s Mark wine. The partnership makes Walmart-owned Sam’s Club the first warehouse retailer to make home wine delivery service available in multiple states.
Beginning Friday, Oct. 8, Sam’s Club members in 16 states will have access to the service, enabling them to order Member’s Mark wines on SamsClub.com and have them shipped directly to their doorsteps. The initial launch will include nine Member’s Mark wine varietals in those 16 states and Washington, D.C. – including some areas that don’t currently have access to these member favorite wines.
States included in the launch are California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming. Additional states and wines will be added to the service early next year.
“From rich Paso Robles Cabernet to fresh Italian Prosecco, smooth Sonoma Chardonnay to delicate French rosé, there’s something for every palate in the diverse assortment of Member’s Mark wines,” noted Sam’s Club senior director of merchandising Brian Hillins. “Our merchants take great care in curating our selection, traveling the world to source popular varietals from high quality vineyards. And now through our direct-to-home offering, more members in more places will have access to our highly rated assortment.”
Order requests can be placed on SamsClub.com or through the Sam’s Club app. Members can select from curated 6-pack and 12-pack sets based on their preferences. Wine sets range in price per bottle from $7 to $10 and the shipping fee is a flat rate of $6 for six-bottle orders and $9 for 12-bottle orders.
