Publix Super Markets, which has operated in Gainesville, Fla., for over 50 years, has opened its 14th store in the area. It is the 15th location in Alachua County.

“We are pleased to invest just steps away from the University of Florida with our newest prototype store,” said Dwaine Stevens, media and community relations manager at Publix.

Stevens said this latest location will help the company “serve the growing downtown infrastructure and the university population in a more convenient manner.”
