AMARILLO, Texas — Affiliated Foods here said yesterday it has entered into a supply agreement with Albertsons LLC to supply a variety of items to the seven New Mexico stores Albertsons LLC acquired from Raley's in Albuquerque and Taos earlier this month. Affiliated has been supplying items to those stores since late 2001. Mike Springer, Affiliated's executive vice president, told SN the items include grocery, frozen and dairy products that appeal to local tastes but that are not carried by the Albertsons distribution center in Phoenix that otherwise supplies the New Mexico stores. According to George Lankford, president and chief executive officer of Affiliated, “We are pleased Albertsons has decided to carry on this relationship. This type of supply agreement strengthens Affiliated and allows us to maintain a greater variety of product to all our members.” Affiliated supplies over 700 stores in nine states, more than 90% of which are members of the cooperative.
