Aldi to Locate at Brooklyn Pathmark Site

NEW YORK — A Pathmark store that closed a year ago in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn will be taken over by Aldi, developers said Wednesday.

The store, scheduled to open in October 2013, would be the first Aldi store in the borough of Brooklyn and will continue the Batavia, Ill.-based discounter’s expansion in New York City. Aldi currently operates three stores in the city.
