Crossmark to Buy Marketing Werks

PLANO, Texas — Crossmark here said Tuesday it has agreed to acquire Marketing Werks, an independent consumer-engagement company.

PLANO, Texas — Crossmark here said Tuesday it has agreed to acquire Marketing Werks, an independent consumer-engagement company.

Terms of the transaction, which is scheduled to close by Aug. 31, were not disclosed.

Marketing Werks, based in Chicago, provides experiential marketing campaigns for companies in several consumer industries. It will become part of Crossmark Marketing Services, which offers in-store events, experiential marketing, shopper marketing, consumer engagement and field intelligence.

"This acquisition strengthens our position as the leader in field marketing," said Joe Crafton, chief executive officer, Crossmark. "As consumers' behavior continues to evolve, brands are seeking better ways to influence them on their path to purchase.”

Jim Rose, president of Crossmark Marketing Services, will be responsible for overseeing Marketing Werks. Julie Guida and Scott Moller, founders and co-CEOs of Marketing Werks, will remain on the leadership team along with the company's other senior leaders to run the day-to-day operations.

"The addition of Marketing Werks and its incredible reputation for delivering value to the marketplace will be a great addition to the strength, quality and scale of Crossmark," Rose said. "We look forward to our new colleagues joining the Crossmark team."
